Protest Asylum-Seeker Detention on July 20
News recently broke that as many as 1,400 refugee children will be detained in Lawton Oklahoma over the summer. As the cruelty and violence toward immigrant and asylum seeking people escalates, it is time to act. Join hundreds of immigrant leaders and allies from across the nation on Saturday, July 20th at 10 a.m. in Lawton, Oklahoma to demand that the concentration camps be closed and that the U.S. spare no expense to reunite these children with family. Register before Saturday’s rally.

Lawton, OK has a long history of race-based captivity of children. This is where Japanese American families were interned during WWII, and this is where indigenous kids were taken once stolen from their families, and now in 2019 this is only one of many American cities holding asylum seekers from the southern U.S. border captive. Based on the torturous, inhumane conditions at other facilities, we know that these children may not have adequate nutrition, hygiene, or safety. This is among America’s most shameful moments and it calls for action from each of us. Please make a commitment now to fight for the rights, dignity and safety of refugee families by attending this action, and by recruiting others to attend with you.
Thank you for your help in this fight for immigrant justice. #CloseTheCamps
