fight abortion bans
The US Supreme Court just dealt a massive blow to abortion access across the country, and anti-abortion politicians in Oklahoma have passed so many abortion bans and restrictions, it’s already nearly impossible to get an abortion in our state. Governor Stitt just signed multiple new abortion bans into law - including one that criminalizes people for abortion. Young people, people of color, queer and trans folks, and those living in rural areas or working to make ends meet are overwhelmingly the targets of these laws and disproportionately face the risk of being arrested for ending their own pregnancies.
Take Action to Demand: All Oklahomans who need an abortion, including those who self-manage, should be able to safely and with dignity - and without fear of arrest, jail or investigation!
The courts won’t save us - so we’re building a movement that demands real access to abortion care, laws that support us, and a culture where our decisions are met with dignity and support. That future also includes support for using safe, effective medication abortion to self-manage an abortion without risk of arrest, prosecution or jail.
Though there are safe, effective medications you can take at home to end a pregnancy, people who end their own pregnancies or those who assist them have been targeted, reported, prosecuted, or even jailed. The criminalization of self-managed abortion discourages people from seeking needed care and builds further stigma around abortion.
